PWYC - Doors at 9
Andrew Nunno 9:30-10:15
Anjelica Rees 10:15- 11:15
VEINS 11:15-12:15

Anjelica Rees
Anjelica Rees is a Acoustic performer with a rock flair who uses her classical music training to create a unique sound that is clearly her own. After spending 5 years performing and touring with the Bach Children’s Chorus and performing as a front woman to 2 bands now Anjelica is breaking off on her own and using her love of rock music to shape her acoustic sound. With nothing but a guitar, her voice and a set of lyrics that read like a personal diary; Anjelica performs heartfelt honest music that tells of her life thus far. Her diverse musical taste and upbringing has shaped the unique sound that she has today. Throughout her time as a musician she's had the opportunity to perform with people from all over the world; most notably as a part of the Golden Gate International Choir Festival in San Francisco 2013. In the past she provided backing vocals for the band Daedalus who played shows in the Hamilton area as well as in the 2015 Greenbelt Harvest Picnic in Dundas Ontario.
Most recently Anjelica has released her first EP entitled 'Want Me' that is a selection of songs detailing feelings of being wanted in life and love.

VEINS
VEINS is Hannah Bussiere’s dreamy garage rock solo project based in Toronto. Her 12-track debut album, Moon Garden was recently released in May, and has been called “a great piece of art… plenty of groove and emotion” by the Deli Magazine. VEINS becomes a 5-piece band when playing live, band members including Jacob Switzer and Fox Martindale of Goodbye Honolulu. They play frequently at local venues around downtown Toronto.
VEINS started playing together in January of 2015 as a 3-piece band, after Hannah returned from Montreal, where she had attended one semester at McGill for their classical music program. Since her return, VEINS has played over 20 gigs and expanded the live group along the way. This “garage rock princess” (Happy Forever Publishing) is excited to add a strong female presence to the Toronto music scene and is hoping to tour within the next couple of years, after Hannah finishes the Independent Music Production program at Seneca College, which she is currently attending.

Andrew Nunno
Listening to Andrew Nunno’s music is like cruising the back roads in a vintage car. Lost in the ride as beautiful landscapes gently roll by, not knowing exactly the destination. All the while engaged in a heart holding conversation with a fresh air melody blowing in through the window. Arriving at a picturesque whereabouts not experienced before. This constantly evolving Progressive Folk musician lives in Toronto, ON serenading audience with his guitar and lap steel paired with his band The Casuals. Born and raised in Owen Sound, Andrew was called to music with inspiration from the earth, creating beautiful euphoric guitar parts that relax behind the beat. Andrew is at the beginning of a very exciting career influenced by many. Andrew writes songs with fresh flowing changes, mixing the genres he loves. His melodies create a pleasing path as the notes trickle through the chords.

Scott Nolan Live At The Cavern Bar (No cover!!)

Join us at The Cavern Bar, 76 Church street for an amazing live performance by Scott Nolan

~April 28 2016, 9pm~

Scott Nolan
http://www.scottnolan.ca/
His music earnest and expectant, if a little weatherworn and weary, Winnipeg-based songwriter and performer Scott Nolan has earned the esteem his works have rendered. Some have called him noteworthy, even acclaimed – but the smart money cites Nolan as a voice rarely heard this side of the century, a musician who shrugs away any five-dollar-cover singer-songwriter motifs before he unsnaps his guitar case. His are the songs sung for people with a past, sturdily backlit with unswerving musicianship and a disposition rooted in the best of rock n’ roll, roots and Americana.

EARTH HOUR AT THE CAVERN BAR 2016

March 19th 2016, 8:30pm
HI Toronto and The Cavern Bar will be turning off their lights at 8:30 for an hour. The only lights used will be glow sticks!

Join us for this amazing celebration of our planet!

What?
The world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment. While remaining an impactful visual call-out, its true impact is starting to be seen in areas and communities fighting climate change on an everyday basis. At 8.30 p.m. on Saturday 19 March 2016, hundreds of millions of people across the globe will switch off the non-essential lights of homes and businesses for one hour. Hostelling International wants to take part in the global movement by an awareness campaign.
Why?
Through its mission, HI is seeking to provide youth with strong educational tools and moments to get a better understanding of contemporary challenges. Running an Earth Hour campaign that celebrates your commitment and achievements is a way to engage and empower others, to educate and to show the way to sustainable living in a healthy physical and cultural environment.
