Alex Southey is in the middle of recording demos for what will become a debut EP or LP. At this point, he's just following his own taste, and attempting to write and perform what feels honest to him.
Apparently that means a lot of self-reflection via folk/pop/rock - Robin Pecknold, Jeff Tweedy, Laura Marling, and Aimee Mann are all big influences.
I have been playing guitar on-and-off for nearly a decade, spitting out the occasional interchangeable folk song in my kitchen at 1 am. I like to keep it simple and write things that feel genuine and are fun to play, while hoping that whatever comes out feels relatable to others.
