Cold Tea + Daughter of the Moon

Daughter of the Moon is a dream/folk songstress who moves around the world with her guitar, turning her experiences into songs. Her live performance of voice & acoustic guitar have been described as haunting, yet healing and her songs, sweet and melancholic. Her sound is inspired by the likes of Mazzy Star, Norah Jones & Aldous Harding.

After performing with local Toronto bands such as Inna Powell and Hungry Lake, and as one half of the twin folk duo Shanti & Vale, Vale Abbott is exploring an experimental side of folk in her new project: Cold Tea.

Her music is ethereal and draws on personal history, blending the storytelling of classic folk music and the dreamier perspective of more contemporary styles. Though reminiscent of Bon Iver and Feist, Cold Tea has a unique flare that stands alone.
