Sean and Andrew Fitzpatrick have been fighting about how to write songs together for 15 years. The brothers have written several middling albums with several defunct bands, but Outer Rooms is something entirely different. Operating as a trio, the brothers approached Outer Rooms as a way to keep their songs lean and energetic without sacrificing their pop appeal. Nowhere is this more apparent than on their second full-length album, the Jeff McMurrich-produced Even in the Cannon's Mouth. The album uses its nine tracks to showcase their keyboards, guitars, and drums while leveraging the band's ability to shout and yell to make as joyful a noise as possible. Primarily a live record, Even in the Cannon's Mouth proves that Outer Rooms will make you dance, sing, and yell at your friends for missing their show.
