The Escapist Music + Júlio Falcão

The Escapist Music is a Pop/Rock/Alternative Canadian artist from Montreal. He is a musician, singer, songwriter and composer, and plays various musical instruments. Arnaud Dagenais was born just by the end of the eighties, in 1989. The youth of the artist included all genres of music, from classical to rock. Very early, the artist wanted to create music and started to play guitar and sing. Getting more inspired and creative, he shaped his sound to start following his dreams. Fully dedicated to succeed, his way of life led him to a better understanding of the world around him, and pushed his musical creativity by being easily connected to emotions. In 2010, the artist played his very first gig and continued to perform until today. Arnaud kept working on new songs and has performed shows in Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto and New York City, while constantly working on his art. The Escapist Music released two official singles and were both independently released. « Love Like Gravity » and « All I Need » were acclaimed by his music fans, who are now reaching a total of 3000, all around the world.

Arnaud is also socially involved in his Montreal community since 2007. He volunteered into youth organizations that empowers youth. The musician also participated in festival organizations and has represented marginalized youth by working as a community worker and by joining the creation of seminars and events. The music work of the artist is also directly reflected into his social work. Throughout his social work career, the artist is helping young people connect with their creativity and is also producing and helping young artists into their own careers.

The Escapist Music is touring in Eastern Canada during 2018 and is working in the studio on his next single « Violence

The Brazilian musician Júlio Falcão has moved the musical scene of Brazil by presenting his shows full of re-readings of world music successes in ONE MAND BAND style. The artist plays classic songs from bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zepellin, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, U2, Coldplay, Tears for Fears, Men at Work, and many others. In addition to individual work, Júlio Falcão is also a musician from other regional bands integrating a lot of gig’s. When he presents in bars, the style of the singer is very varied, starting with rock and pop, reggae, blues.

Interested in music from an early age, at age 15 he sought to develop singing, which has always been his passion, even before the guitar. Autodidact, Falcão applied with dedication to the musical learning, always counting on the support of friends. The solo career began in 2004, at local bars, events and private parties. “The will to learn an instrument came more as a need for a complement. My training was totally self-taught. With humility, good friends and a lot of dedication we learn everything you want, “he points out.

Chapter 18, Pretox, City Circuits & Cigar Club.

CITY CIRCUITS

The tight & bright explosiveness of emotion, melody and sincerity you hear in the music of City Circuits echoes proud & loud from the unified core of the band and their shared vision of the music they make. Bonded by brotherhood, the band is fueled by the talents & skills of David Smith (Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Jonathan Smith (Drums, Vocals) Corey Biot (Lead Guitar) and Paul Rossi(Bass) quickly making a name for themselves in one of Canada’s most infamous music-scenes where they’re based in Toronto, ON.
With songs that genuinely reflect their passion, heart and determination, these guys pack authenticity into their sound in a way that resonates deep within. You can hear the deep appreciation they have for the opportunity to play & make music together by the way they weave their melodies, music & words together in comforting, natural progressions that sound like they were always inside of them beforehand & just waiting to get out into the world.
City Circuits are looking to take their indie-rock/alternative sound to the next-level and lead the way to a style of music that really means something to people out there. Appreciating every moment of the journey along the way.

CHAPTER 18

Chapter 18: “A dynamic alt-rock band with a story to tell and the one-of-a-kind musicality to enthral and engage the audience along the way”.
Core band members Steven Leszner and Tikka Smiley came together at turning points in each of their lives – seeking an artistic way to share their stories and showcase their talents. Chapter 18 was formed in May 2017, born out of a mutual love of punk, rock and folk genres. Steven and Tikka’s incredible creative chemistry proves that opposites do attract – as one fan raved, their “voices go together like peanut butter and chocolate”.

Each song Chapter 18 has composed reads like a page from the book of their lives; tales of heartache, struggle, love and laughter are set to a melodic range of musical strains and rhythms, bangin’ beats and smooth harmonies. Their recorded tracks are full of passion and compassion and their live shows are full of energy and insight.

Outer Rooms

Outer Rooms

Sean and Andrew Fitzpatrick have been fighting about how to write songs together for 15 years. The brothers have written several middling albums with several defunct bands, but Outer Rooms is something entirely different. Operating as a trio, the brothers approached Outer Rooms as a way to keep their songs lean and energetic without sacrificing their pop appeal. Nowhere is this more apparent than on their second full-length album, the Jeff McMurrich-produced Even in the Cannon's Mouth. The album uses its nine tracks to showcase their keyboards, guitars, and drums while leveraging the band's ability to shout and yell to make as joyful a noise as possible. Primarily a live record, Even in the Cannon's Mouth proves that Outer Rooms will make you dance, sing, and yell at your friends for missing their show.

ALEX SOUTHEY

Alex Southey is in the middle of recording demos for what will become a debut EP or LP. At this point, he's just following his own taste, and attempting to write and perform what feels honest to him.

Apparently that means a lot of self-reflection via folk with rock and pop leanings. Sun Kil Moon, Jeff Tweedy, Laura Marling, and Aimee Mann are all big influences.

Austin Bassarath Live at The Cavern

As an established young tenor saxophonist at the forefront of the Toronto jazz scene, Austin Bassarath brings a unique, melodic voice to the jazz world. Having played music since taking piano lessons at the tender age of 3, Austin’s love for music spans almost his entire life. Austin’s music and musicianship is immensely informed by his studies with world-class saxophonists Mike Murley, Kirk Macdonald, Kelly Jefferson, Ben Wendel and Dino Govoni.

Today, Austin frequently plays as both a leader and sideman at recognized venues in Toronto including but not limited to: The Rex, The Emmet Ray, 120 Diner, The Jazz Bistro, The Cavern, Annette Studios, The Central, and many more. Austin has also made appearances at numerous venues in Italy and Boston.

He is currently in his final year studying Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto under the tutelage of Kelly Jefferson, and has previously studied at Berklee College of Music.
